new pet peeves every day

I'm discovering that I actually have more pet peeves than already established.* Today's revelation came about as I was wrapping a dish in cling wrap and the wrap just continually folded over and got stuck to itself. It's like when you're trying to place a long strip of tape on something, and it creases and pastes to itself instead. Then you pretty much have to discard the tape because trying to pry it apart is just more mess than the tape's worth, but usually you've already stuck one end of the tape to whatever it is you're taping, and so you have to rip that part off as well. Ugh. Ugh!! I hate that.

*Pre-established peeves: people who talk [on their cell phones] loudly in enclosed public places (like trains, buses, study areas at the library); when several people walk side by side (like three abreast) on a narrow sidewalk, verrrrrry sloowwwly; when people stand next to each other on the escalator, blocking the way for others who would like to pass, even when they see people lining up behind them; creased pages in new books; people who walk so close to you that they bump you in the supermarket aisle, although there's no one else there and plenty of space; people who read over your shoulder [aloud] when you're trying to concentrate; misspelled words; incorrect usage of "they're," "there," and "their" (as well as "your" and "you're"); words that only get partially erased from a blackboard; quavery, high-pitched voices...
